His Mother!

It was really nice yesterday, so we were taking a walk around the neighborhood... in the subdivision across the way, we started a game of taking turns kicking a small rock Joshua had found. He would kick it and say "your turn!" and then I'd kick it, and he'd say "momma's turn!" and she'd kick it and he'd say "my turn!" and we did this for at least 10 or 15 minutes...

As we were getting closer back to home, he decided he was done with the rock. So he threw it down. I suspected he might want it again in a few minutes, so I tried to pick it back up without him seeing it, but of course, he noticed. So he was unhappy, and I threw it down on the ground.

We walked about 5 more feet and he started saying "his mother! his mother!" and then he turned around and started looking for the rock and said, "where's my rock?" I went over and got it and took it to him and we saw what was going on. He took and walked over to the drainage ditch on the side of the road and very carefully placed his small rock on top of one of the very large rocks that surrounded the ditch. He was taking the rock back to "his mother." :) Way too cute, I tell ya.

After that, we walked on, and he seemed proud of a job well done.
